The article presents the authors' comments on an International Research Workshop on health-related stigma and discrimination, which was held by the Dutch Royal Tropical Institute in the Netherlands in the fall of November 2004. The workshop was designed to measure participation restrictions in the fields of physical disability and leprosy.
